Praia da Coelha is a pretty cove, carved into the cliffs in a hidden spot just outside of Albufeira. Depending on the tide, the beach all but disappears but if you time it well the sandy beach provides the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the rugged surroundings. The sandstone cliffs glisten in rich colours and tower over the crystal clear waters of the ocean. There is a delightful restaurant that perches above the sands and prides itself on the quality of its fresh fish and seafood. The locals can be seen gathering here in their Sunday best for a feast every Sunday afternoon, what a privilege! Parking is a few hundreds metres up a hill and the walkway to the beach has been improved in recent years and is now a non-slip surface with shallow steps that lead to the wooden walkway that approaches the restaurant. The facilities are good at this cove and include toilets and showers.
