Poor guy.. he grew up with the wooden rackets.. must be hard making the transition to metal.. shots with wooden rackets were aimed with the face more open(up) whereas, the metal ones are hit with a more closed(down) face.

It's another Great Day in Borg's life.... Because today, May 31, 2009 Bjorn kept his record of four French wins in a row, and six overall. Rafa Nadal lost in four sets in the fourth round today, and to a SWEDE ! no less, Robin Soderling. So Rafa and Bjorn remain tied. Borg was even better on clay than Nadal, and retired from the French undefeated for four years. I met Borg. He was the best. And now Federer has a chance to complete his own career grand slam by winning in Paris. It's cool.

Nadal has lost 1 match in Paris. ONE Match. Borg is my all time favorite player. I wore Fila and played with his racquets. He quit too soon, age 25. The game is much different now. Hardly any serve and volley. Hard to compare generations, but I'm not sure Bjorn would beat Rafa on clay.

One thing about Borg was he was a great athlete. It's hard to compare with the modern generation though.

I saw him play in Boston last year and he had a much more abbreviated backhand, looks more like his old one here in this vid.
